Sacramento
From the moment James Marshall discovered gold at Sutter’s Mill on a chilly January morning
in 1848, Sacramento (and California) history would never be the same. Your Dr. Clue treasure
hunt in old Sacramento steps back in time to the old Gold Rush days, when young men left their
homes by the thousands in pursuit of wild-west riches. With its wooden sidewalks, brick
buildings, and cobblestone streets, Old Sacramento maintains much the look of olden days—thanks
to a $100-million restoration. Your hunt may take you to a 1926 paddlewheeler; a monument to
the Pony Express; the Lady Adams Building (from 1852); and the Southern Pacific Railway Depot.
In the late 1840s, all roads truly led to Sacramento! (Watch our 2-minute video preview to see what a typical Dr. Clue program looks and feels like!)
